Weekly CUUPS Social Meetings at UUCL

Starts Circa 12:30 Each Sunday Following the 'regular' UUCL Service

Weather permitting, meetings are held in the yard by the Fellowship House. In inclement weather, we meet in a spare classroom. Ask any greeter to direct you to the CUUPs group, or just ask where to find the pagans... Our social meetings are an opportunity to meet and chat with members and friends of the UUCL congregation with interests in paganism and earth centered spirituality and are open to all.

Solar Celebrations

Rituals Start circa 7:00 PM

This year, LexCUUPS will be holding open, public ritual on each of the 8 Solar 'Sabbats'. (The Key Points in the Sun's journey with relation to the earth, held sacred by many tradional peoples. They are, Summer and Winter Solstice, Spring and Fall Equinox, and the planting/harvest festivals that fall midway between those points on or about Feb 2, May 1, Aug 1, and Nov 1) Ritual Celebrations, weather permitting, are held outside, either in the 'common' area at UUCL, by the education wing, or in the more private spaces by the woods. In inclemment weather, or occasionally when we just feel like it, we meet in the Sanctuary or the Fellowship House. Note that UUCL sometimes has need of church grounds for other events on the actual 'holy day'. Please use our new scheduling calendar, or dates posted in the Uniview (UU of Lexington's newsletter) to determine our actual meeting night.

Celebrations are followed by a pot-luck, for grounding and and varied pagan conversation. ;)

Rituals are open to all, and are generally designed in the tradition of the that particular seasons volunteer leader. These are intended as both learning and spiritual experiences, and generally presume that some participants will arrive with no prior knowledge of a pagan path.

Please Visit our Lexington Public Pagan interactive calendar page for Dates and Times and moon phases of events and other local goings on.

Other Special Events

Solstice Sumbol 2010
Saturday June 19, 6:00 PM till dawn at UUCL

This year, as part of UUCL's fundraising drive, LexCUUPS plans to host a traditional celebration of the Turning of the Year, in the Norse Tradition, especially for those of the greater congregation interested in linking themselves more closely to the 'Vettir' (land spirit) of UUCL itself thru both word and deed. We ask that participants contribute at least $20 directly to UUCL (for the event, over and above any 'regular' pledge... More than that is good and gives you something to 'boast' about if needed) We'll camp out on the grounds, add our personal blessings to the land, and spend the evening in making ritual toasts of good will concerning our own participation in UUCL's shining future. Hard or Soft potables will be available to persons of appropriate age, to toast with. Meat will be singed in flame and consumed. Horns of Mead Raised, songs sung, and life celebrated in general. A vegan option will be available, but in keeping with the tradition of the rite, will be limited to either oatmeal, or turnips.

LEXINGTON-BLUEGRASS PAGAN PRIDE 2010
Saturday September 18, 10 AM till 6:00 PM at UUCL

Pagan is Pride Back in Lexington!
LexCUUPS members will sponsor the 4rd annual Lexington Area Pagan Pride Day. As part of a national program to promote pagan networking and awareness, UUCL's grounds will be open to the public and press to participate in an assortment of pagan rituals, presentations and vendors from the Lexington Area. This is a consiousness raising event, for the whole community and we do hope you'll attend. Admission is a non persishable food item, which we'll contribute to a local Food Pantry. In the interuum, we're still seeking representatives of local covens, circles, and Trads of various sorts who'd like to present ritual, or people information booths as well as pagan friendly vendors. (Our First Year's Event went swimmingly, the 2nd doubled the size of the first with some 300 BlueGrass Pagans in attendance and 3 saw vendors investing in vacation homes) Help make BlueGrass Pagan Pride 2010 the Hugest Bluegrass Networking Event Ever.
